Chocolate Sugar Cookies with a White Chocolate Drizzle
Recipe From: Joyofbaking.com
Valentines Day is here and if you want to put a smile on your valentines face bake them some of these!
You are going to need:
2 3/4 cups of all purpose flour
3/4 cup of unsweetened Dutch processed cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 cup of room temperature butter
1 3/4 cups of granulated white sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract
In a large bowl whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. In the bowl of your electric mixer (or use a hand mixer) beat the butter and sugar. Beat until they are light and fluffy, which will take about three minutes. Add the eggs one at a time beating well after each one. Then add the vanilla. Once it is well mixed add the flour mixture until it forms a smooth dough. Split the dough into two balls, wrap them in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about an hour. After the hour roll out the dough to about 1/4-inch and cut into shapes. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees then bake for 10 to 12 minutes. After the cookies have cooled they are all ready to decorate. First melt some white chocolate morsels in the microwave for about 2 minutes. Put the fully melted white chocolate into a piping bag with a small tip and pipe whatever designs that you like.
Enjoy your delicious treat!!!
