Cooking tip #5

Corn Without the Silk
Tip By: http://buddychai.com/Misc/KitchenTips.html

With summer quickly approaching so are the cook outs and with cookouts come CORN!  Husking the corn is easy but getting all that silk of isn't.  To do this easily all you need to do is take a damp paper towel and run it downwards along the corn.  This gets all that silk off quickly so you can enjoy your corn and your cook out!

Cooking Tip #4

The Prettiest Cake Ever
Tip By: http://www.power-yoga.com/Community/KitchenTips/tabid/159/Default.aspx

Putting white flour in the cake pan may help your cake not to stick but it leaves an ugly white ring around your cake.  It looks pretty bad but you can't leave half the cake in the pan!  To prevent sticking but still have a pretty cake is save a little bit of dry cake mix to spread around the pan.  This leaves no white ring and your cake will slip right out of the pan.  Your cake will come out pretty each and every time!

The Best Chocolate Cake EVER

The Best Chocolate Cake EVER
Recipe By: Hershey's Cocoa

This cake is great for any party!

What you'll need:
2 cups of sugar
1 and 3/4 cups of all purpose flour
3/4 Hershey's Cocoa
1 and 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder
1 and 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon of salt
2 eggs
1 cup of milk
1/2 cup of vegetable oil
2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
1 cup of boiling water

First you will need to preheat your oven to 350 degrees.  Grease and flour two 9 inch cake pans.  Combine all of the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl.  Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla and beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.  Next stir in the boiling water (this will make the batter thin).  Pour the batter into pans and bake for 30-35 minutes (or until a cake tester or a toothpick comes out clean).  Then let the cakes cool for 10 minutes and remove them from the pans.

What's a cake without the frosting?
What you'll need:
1 stick of butter
2/3 cups of Hershey's Cocoa
3 cups of powdered sugar
1/3 cup of milk
1 teaspoon of vanilla

First you will need to melt the butter.  Once it is totally melted, remove from heat and add the cocoa.  Alternate adding milk and powdered sugar beating on medium speed.  Add more milk if needed.  Then stir in the vanilla.
Make sure that you wait until your cake is totally cooled before frosting it!

My favorite way to eat this kind of cake is with a little bit of mint chip ice cream!!
Enjoy your cake!  Let me know what you think.
